Lovely weekend

I sat in the garden listening to the sound of laughter, children's laughter coupled with the far off occassional squeal after someone has been squirted with presumably cold water. THe buzz of the bees and the birdsong indicated to us that summer has finally arrived. What a difference a day makes, the previous day was overcast and warm, the kids were still outside playing and laughing but when the sun comes out the mood lightens as well. Even the French Open final didn't interrupt business in the garden due to its brevity.

Lucy decided that sun cream and hats were not really her thing, it was a running battle to keep Heather's hat on but Matthew couldn't be separated from his Thomas hat. A last minute BBQ added to the fun in the sun as I took a quick trip to the high street to try and find some meat and so on to cook.

Another week of school for Heather, she has found out who her new teacher is come Septemeber and she seems excited about it so that is good. I wonder how long it will be until the novelty of school will take to wear off, at the moment every day she asks if she is going. I am getting more nervous as the date of Heather's first report gets nearer, she is off for lunch at school this week as well.

We have also now initiated a new behavious scheme using stickers, always a winner and so far it is working, we have made a simple chart splitting the day into ten sections, bought some cheap stickers and the kids love putting them on the chart, so far their behaviour has improved so much. I am sure it won't last but every day that it works for is a blessing.
