Massa

Many of you will have seen the news that in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday Felipe Massa was struck on the head by a stray spring. This resulted in two fractures to the skull, an emergency operation and intensive care. At this time I share the thoughts of many wishing him a speedy recovery. It shows us how in an instant lives can be changed.
Predictably Labour lost the Norwich by-election and so the newspapers were once again calling for Brown's head. When will they realise that no matter how much the public may want to have him served up on a platter, it isn't going to happen. If Labour had won it would have been newsworthy, they were expected to lose by all but the most deluded and thus it came as no surprise when they did. Brown is going to see the term out, helped by an extensive summer recess from parliament and a healthy Christmas break as well. Nothing significant will happen, there will be lots of party political broadcasts and next year after the election, a flurry of legislation and moaning about the state of the country that has been inherited by the winning party, which I expect to be the Conservatives.
