About me
My name is Melanie, otherwise known as Mel or Mummy. I live in Brentwood, Essex with my husband James and our three children Heather (2004), Matthew (2006) and Lucy (2008).
I hold a 2:2 degree in English and American Literature from the University of Kent at Canterbury. Between 1999-2000 I trained as a primary school teacher with the Billericay school centred initial teacher training centre. After Heather was born I returned to teaching but following the arrival of Matthew I decided to be come a full time Mum.
I have recently been awarded a diploma in creative writing from the Open University. With them I have also studied some philosophy, psychology and children's literature.
My main ambition to become a published writer has been achieved as my novel Tumbling Through Life was published in 2009. I just hope someone reads what I have written and is entertained. If they can read my story and forget where they are for the time they are reading I will have achieved my goal. I also aim to write a novel for children. You can follow my progress (or lack of) here.
My first novel Tumbling Through Life has now been published. I would love to hear what people think of the novel and am now working on new writing.
Thanks for visiting, hope you come back soon.
